Smile just rode a 50 for the first time!!! lots of ?s

My friend just got his brand new crf50 today and we broke it in. To break it in we just cruised around on it in the first 2 gears for like 10 min at a time. We let it cool down for 15 min then rode it again for another 10, using more throttle each time, and varying the revs a lot. We did this like 6 times, then we started to ride it normally, but we let it cool down every once in a while. Is this how we shoulda broken it in cause i think ill be buyin a new one pretty soon if i cant find any used ones near St. Louis, MO. Anybody know someone sellin one?

I got some questions for you guys too. I'm about 6ft tall and the only way i can ride the bike w/ the stock bars is w/ my knees spread out, so i think i need some taller bars.

-1st off, can i just take off the stock bars and drill some holes in the triple clamp thing and bolt down the top part of a BMX stem and use some BMX bars?
-Does the stock throttle fit on 7/8" bars, or do i need a new one?
-Will the throttle work on BMX bars if they're only 24" wide, cause my exra bars are that short.
-Are the stock cables long enough that they would work w/ bmx bars?
-Can i use a peg from a BMX bike that works w/ 14mm axles? It seems like the axle is smaller than 14mm, but bigger than 3/8"

Thats all the questions i can think of for now... That is so fun. We already both can do 20ft wheelies, we both looped it a couple times too I cant wait till i get mine....

i cut loose the bars and turned them up and re welded them for starters. Then I made a new tripple clamp out of steel and moved the bars forward. Next i found a throtle on ebay for 9.99 and will install it tomorrow on bmx bars and instead of using a bmx clamp im just going to weld it sold like the factory one is. For the cables reroute them thru the other side of the steer tube.

may not be the pimpest but functional and cheap

mt buddy just drilled holes an inch forward on the stock clamp it works mint then we made a riser out of plate steel and its now 3"forward and 1 " up it looks wierd but saves 200 dollaz and all you have to buy is steel stock. so it will cos like 5 buks max. we just went to a local welding company and they gave it to us for free
