What's up guys! What a terrible way to introduce myself to a new forum with a problem, but what can you do?
This is probably the best looking forum for what I need anyhow. Anyways, I was driving my 2000 XR50 up an incline and I felt a little something give out and I lost a little power. I figured it was time to do a little maintenance so I drained the oil, put some new oil in (car oil was all I had
), and checked the air filter (completely ruined with a hole in it). So i put a shop rag in place of it
. Well I fired it up and tried to rev it a little and it seemed to sputter out when I tried to go and it would die and eventually it got worse. I just bought an air filter for it the other day and installed it today and put everything back together and now it wont start
. I checked the spark and its good, but the spark plug has black junk on it (almost like oil). So I'm stumped here guys. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for the help.

underneath your fuel n air adjustment (phillips screw n flathead screw) at the bottom of the carb bowl, theres a flathead screw. loosen it out n that will drain the carb, screw back in once u see some fuel drain. If no fluid comes out ur not getting fuel n something might possibly be clogged in ur fuel line going to the carb. If some fluid comes out i would try n take ur filter off n maybe spray a little shot of carb cleaner, make sure choke is off n fuel is on and try to start. Make sure wires are all connected for ur key if u have one. List updates n attempts of starting n we might b able to get it figured out.
