Carb won't stop leaking
Carb won't stop leaking
I have a 2007 CRF50 and I just rebuild the carb. It is leaking from the drain hose.
I have checked the float, all the hoses, and the drain bolt is tight. Any ideas???

Re: Carb won't stop leaking
how badly is it leaking? perhaps when u drained it before some crap got stuck in the drain and the bolt won't close properly... it's a long shot, but maybe take some compressed air and try to blow that out? it's a rather simple mechanism so i can't imagine the fix will be very difficult

I think the problem may be the float is not sealing the gas inlet. Do you know what that piece is called?
Re: Carb won't stop leaking
PROBLEM SOLVED
I found the missing piece. It is the float valve. Its piece number 10. The float pushes it up into the gas inlet and causes the fuel to stop flowing, thus stopping the bowl from overflowing. Without this piece the bowl will continue to fill up with gas and overflow.

Re: Carb won't stop leaking
Just thought I'd point out to anyone not savy trying to learn that the top darker #10 is just the needle valve drain hose exit. The lower lighter #10 is the float needle valve.
