weather affecting bike?

so, today, my bike is running like crap. the bike stutters when you hit a higher rev (like it's bouncing off the limiter, but it's not even close) which I believe is a lean condition. However I checked my plug and it was black from carbon fowling which is a rich condition. (That might be because I switched air filters the other day while one was drying)

But what the ****?! It runs like **** today. How much does this ******* massachusetts weather affect these bikes? It's 60 one day, and 40 the next. Do they not like being run when it's cold out?

Re: weather affecting bike?

i think i figured it out...

last time i rode the bike, it was nice and warm and i switched to a more restrictive air filter (foam compared to K&N). that riding made the mixture too rich and fouled up the plug that i pulled today.

today, i put back the K&N and it was freakin freezing outside. Therefore the air was more dense and was leaning out the bike, which was why it was running like ****.

And now, someone can delete this thread if they want!
