best gearing with a 140cc motor?

best gearing with a 140cc motor?

got a stock 50 with a ogm 140cc motor and its has to much power and have no hand brake so what gearing should i git so i have a smoother throttle its to choppy in 1st and to much power in 2n gear, should i go lower like a 30tooth or more like a 45 tooth? its at stock 15 front 37 back

maybe go to a 17 in front and a 30 back? thats what i would try

they only have a 16T on fast50's.com but i might try that. im not really sure what welse would work. because going up in the front wuld decrease top end speed so it might help with slow stuff. and going down in the rear would decreasse torque so that might help.

You have that backwards. Going up in front will give you higher speeds and make slow stuff harder. think about the gears on a bicycle. smaller ring means lower/smaller speeds. Bigger ring means higher/bigger speeds while the exact opposite is done on the back. Small front to big rear gear is for climbing/more revs.

yeah i have the right gearing that i meant but i put it backwads. he said his bike is too fast and has too much torque because he has no HB. so i was thinking up in front and down in rear.

thats alot of motor for a fifty ....lol

and yes going up in the front or down in the back should make the bike a little less twitchy and increase the top speed ...
