Re: Is push starting bad?
if there was no clutch of some sort, you wouldn't be able to stop while the bike was in gear without it cutting off on you. looks to me like 50 clutch is alot like a regular clutch, just doesn't have a separate lever to operate it.
and back to the original point.
i've been a motorcycle mechanic for 8 or 9 years now, and i've never seen a bike damaged from push starting it. i've seen a hellofa lot of tranny's (mostly 2nd gear) take a dump from clutching alot of wheelies, but the force the tranny takes from a push start is a hellofa lot less than dropping the clutch at high rpm. i guess theoretically you could damage it push starting it, but i don't see that happening. honda 50's are damn tough, those motors have been around a loooong time, i think if they had that sort of problem, honda would have addressed it by now.
that's just my opinion though. believe whatever you want to believe.

Re: Is push starting bad?
i go thru tires alot anyway, got quite used to the $2 wal mart tires. i guess that would depend on the compression of the motor. people with big bores with higher compression would have a harder time with it.

Haha yea a long *** while though. They aren't that big a deal anyway, not that much
Re: Is push starting bad?
Yea it's all stupid, people taking **** seriously on a forum.
And yea it's aight to push start it. I wouldn't hold it in N and then drop it, i would just pop it into third and push it. I have a 1998 Z50R Minitrail and that's what i do with that. Works nice and not that much wear on it at all.

Re: Is push starting bad?
At least StuntMoney said he messed up and didn't go to his old post and edit and not say anything. But even if ther was no clutch, many dirtbikes (Im nto sure if this applys to the xrs, someone get a tranny diagram) the gears are designed to be shifted without the clutch. If you ever listnen to a pro MX racer ithe bike it sounds like it has one gear, becuas they shift without using clutch or letting off gas.

Re: Is push starting bad?
First off there big boy you came after me. And if you didn't know what i meant then you have bigger problems than your little friends on stuntlife. Quit the drama, if i worded my post wrong im sorry. Since your opinion matters sooo much to me anyway. If i want your opinion, i'll give it to you.

And you DO NOT work on hayabusas. One because you have to have an 8 year degree on mechanics to work on them only because they are such a high class and hard to work with engine. So yea i'm callin the bull-**** flag on you man. You don't know what your talkin about.
