Re: Having trouble

I'm with Mr. Negative on this one but if you have to switch, preload your shifter with a little positive pressure and once up there around 6-8k blip the throttle just a hair.

This works better when moving from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th and so on because you don't have the possibility of hitting neutral. Once you blip the throttle, be sure to really pull that baby up so to not hit neutral.

IMHO: Stick with 2nd, find the balance point and ride all day.

Re: Having trouble

learn to get it up in second, shifting from 1st to 2nd fukd up my shift forks. If you really have to shift from 1st to 2nd, like going from slow stuff to a fast wheelie, addjust your clutch lever so it can be pulled in half way without effecting the clutch itself. This will allow you to shift faster by being able to have the lever partially pulled in while up in 1st. Takes getting use to, and you have to find that spot on the lever that is just right. Oh yeh...get it up higher before you shift, and shift as soon as you can (mid rpm). As for the sprocket, go up 5 on rear and you'll love it.
