Re: attempting to wheelie from dead stop...crash..AJ this ones for you mate;)

you made the typical mistake alot of people make , you took your foot off the brake and jumped off the bike ..

i know it's hard but when you feel like youre gonna tip over backwards you have to learn to hit the brake not jump because right when you feel like youre gonna tip over is right where you need to be to catch idle ..

When I get that high again later today is it just a case of tapping the back brake to stop the bike going too far back then the idle should hold it up?

yes , you are basically looking for the point where the bike wants to tip over backwards but you tapping the brake will keep it from happening , now im not saying you hit the brake once and the bike will just stay in a wheelie , you will have to continually adjust brake pressure to find the sweet spot where the brake isnt over powering the pull of the idle ..

Reet got ya that makes sense, throttle gets bike up,brake (with varying pressure dependent on how the bike is stood) keeps the bike from falling too far back, and idle allows you to ride it out simples now the hard part practicing it ha ha cheers bro

I seen a dude from Mexico, I think his name was Cross, in OKC for Corupted Speed's first/last annual get-together/arrested-together Killing it with stock idle. So like OMR said its a preference thing if you get a faster idle it is less likely to stall but its all a preference thing.
