question for those who might know

I am enlisted in the Army and am supposed to leave for basic April 6th, a match came back on my record which means i forgot to put a charge that accured back in 1999. it's just a petty shoplifting charge that happened when i was 15, do you think it will have an effect on me shipping out?

Re: question for those who might know

I seen poolee's get charged and kicked out for fraudulent enlistment ( Marines ), but it was becasue of possession of drungs etc.. Since you are going into the Army I don't think you will have a problem. Just tell them you forgot since it happend a long time ago. I know the Army lets a lot more **** slide when trying to enlist.

Fabes' right- the pride alone makes it worth it, the respect and esteem are up there too. Once a Marine always a Marine - something you can always be proud of.

Theres so much you can do in the Marines too, take me for example, i've only been in for just over two years, but here i am in Yerevan Armenia providing security for the American Embassy here, i have a cook, maid, chauffer, hooked the hell up. Plus all the extra pay for being on the MSG program. Something to think about. Good luck with whatever decision you make. Just don't worry too much over fraudulent enlistment, just tell your recruiter and he'll make it all right.

Entry Level Separation, unclassifiable, and you will be permitted to join another branch.

not the AF. they're picky about their recruits. anyway, they shouldn't be too pissy about it.

Re: question for those who might know

All you have to do is tell your recruiter, he will re write his paperwork...If they give you **** about it and want to remove you from the seervice, you haven't been in long enough for anything that will affect your life when you get out.........
