This thread is about the tear down & rebuild of the motor from my 89 lx that I'm swapping into my [B][U][URL="http://stuntride.com/vbstunt/showthread.php?t=5638"]'66 FORD FAIRLANE[/URL][/U][/B]

The donor is a 89 lx with 115k. I knew it would need some cleaning, refurbishing so I did a comp test a couple weeks ago and got great results in all 8 cyls (135psi+) and the AOD was rebuilt 3k ago so I decided just to freshen up the motor instead of a complete rebuild. I am also adding GT40p heads(explorer heads),explorer upper/lower intakes as well as a trick flow cam/springs.

Had to drill out front cover for dipstick & still need to dowel tho old hole dip hole in the block :)

so with a thread titled "big block stunnin" why Am I looking at a small block build? plan change? why? mpg? cool build. Its amazing how much the suspension looks exactly like my 66 mustang.

It's gonna be shitty for a hand full of days so I wanted to get it as sealed up as poss. I yanked the pan back off & spent waaaaaay too long on the wire wheel stripping 3 coats of paint(incl an orange one????) to re-spray it black. Also buttoned up the dipstick & new oil pump/pick-up.

Soooo, where is it now? Big block yet? I gotta big block in my truck....lol 7.3L turbo diesel PSD. I think you should have dropped a PSD or a cummins Diesel in that baby, Roalling coal.
