Are we over policed?

Are we over policed?
Just a few cool facts that I have learned over the past week,
Did you know that Jville has 129 cops?
Did you know that the Rock county sheriffs dept. has 170?
I personally know of 5 state troopers that live here as well.
Now I know that out of the 170 at the county not all of them are deps. and I know that they don't all work at the same time or in the same area but Jville has 60,000 people. That's 1 law enforcement agent for every 197 people. Or you can look at it this way, Jville is 27.5 square miles. That means if every official was working at the same time there would be 1 official for every nine tenths of a square mile. So again I question what everyone thinks about this and would like some input.
