Re: My bike is fu(ked up!
Any good tips on where to get a new regulator?
I've seen it available for $184 on bikebandit.com and an aftermarket model for as low as $145 online somewhere. I guess ebay is always an option too...

I wouldn't buy any electrical parts off E-bay. If you wouldn't buy it from a reputable salvage yard with no guarantee, why buy it from some douchebag on the internet?
There's enough guys on this board that get discounts on their parts too help you out.

Re: My bike is fu(ked up!
there is a test you can do with an analog ohm meter but other than that not really. Sometimes Honda will sell those plugs separately if they have had problems with them as they did with the stator plugs for the GL1200's. You will have to check with Englehart or Young America. K&L also sells all sorts of different connectors. If one of them is set up as a dealer with them they might be able to get you something.

Re: My bike is fu(ked up!
Also upon futher review of your pics it appears that someone has modified the plug on it already. In the first pic is that one of the yellow wires thats out of the plug? That plug should have all three yellow wires running into it. It almost looks as if someone has cut part of the top of that plug out(right next to the chared mark).

I talked to parts at Engleharts and they said they could probably get an aftermarket plug the same or similar enough to do the trick.

Re: My bike is fu(ked up!
my 900rr did that too. you can ohm test the regulator, but basic rule is when the plug fries its bad. do like ryan said, replace it and you will be fine. hell, i didnt even replace mine, i just cut the connecter off, and used crimp connecters and its been ok since.

GOOD NEWS and BAD NEWS
Good news is that the manual came in and I talked two of the electrical guys at work into going to check the rectifier on my bike with me. The red/white pin had some ohms going through, but all of the yellow pins are cooked = no ohms. Problem solved.
Bad news is that I need a new rectifier. Where do I go, who do I talk to to get one from Parts Unlimited?
One last thing... upon further inspection of the plug, the charred area had already been hacked away before. Looks like this isn't the first time this has happened.

Heed my warnings from the earlier post. I've bought and sold enough **** over the internet to know that electronics are an easy way to lose $$$.
See if one of the guys can hook it up for you on the parts.
Like, maybe Atty-pha? (is that pig latin?)
