you guys give it up to Josh for putting on a hell of a ride this Friday at Road America. Riding a nearly stock 04' R6 they pulled down a 4th in there first endurance race!
Not bad for a 98lb weakling

Well it was the Team Challenge so give it up for Greg "The Hammer" Hemmersbach as well. He is the Team owner and rider too. It was his bike and his skill and determination that got us there. I am very, VERY happy with our results. We didn't even finish the bike untill 12:30 am friday morning. Neither of us have been on the track in three years so I think our result is excellent. 4th out of 12 in the GTU class(600cc) and 9th out of 31 overall. And I also need to give a big thanks to Tim Lemke and Jason Morgan for helping us out on thusday with finishing up the bike and for friday with all the help during the course of the day. We could not have done it without you guys. We owe you guys big! And also thanks to Missy for making sure the fire wouldn't get outta control(holding the fire extinguisher).
I agree with Kevin.
All the 600's are similar. If a company gives you cash in hand to promote them then go for it. Other than that, it don't make any sence to give Yamaha or Honda or any other company free advertising. What has that company done for you? I'll tell you. NOTHING! They gave you a great bike but you had to pay top dollar fot it. If you got a deal that you're proud of then give the dealership props.
Brand loyalty is for NASCAR fans because they don't know any better!!!
Greg and Josh are great sport bike riders. They would have finished great weather they were on a Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, or a Yamaha.

Oh yea, ckcrew, Josh tells me that he'll have a bike next year.
Hey Josh you better!! I know Greg is back in it but i need all my buddies to race again like the 'ole days. Maybe I'll find a nice 'lil Yamaha 2'fidy for the ultra lightweight class!! Can you imagine a Yamaha 250 with Ohlins suspension and a steering dampner?

first off---MAJOR props to G&J racing!!! thats cool as hell!!!
second of all-----timmy has an excellent point with the brand thing....corporate sponsors are hard to come by, especially when people run their name to BEGIN with!!! why would a company want to pay you to run their bike when you do it already WITHOUT getting paid?!?!? sooooooooo rip all your kawi, honda, suzuki, yamaha decals OFF your bike and run www.verticalmischief.com stickers :-)

Just to throw a little gas on the fire...
Tourdot Racing finished 7th in the GTU class, not sure where overall. This was with 'Doc' Stein as backup rider to myself. It was his first time even sitting on the bike during the race. He admitted that he had expected to have to come back in after the first lap and tell me the suspension was junk and he couldn't race it...but it wasn't
He did start out turning 3:01's his first few laps on the bike, but did get down to a 2:49 (I was doing a very consistent 2:47's most of the race). I really appreciate the assistance in running the race...but I wish Timmy would have been able to make himself available.
Maybe next time Xian gets 'laid up'...eh?
Overall, though, had a good 'first' weekend with 10th place finishes in my first 3 races (32 entries in each of the first two). I managed to get some very consistent times, with a few 'good' laps down in the 2:43 range. Can't wait to do it all over again :YEAH
BTW...those 04's are damn fast! had a hard time keeping up with the stock ones...and no chance to hang with the mod'd ones.
