Just got my third ticket for the year .......

I was on my way to work on good ole I-90 and it came to almost a stand still so I took the HWY 51 exit towards madison. Every thing was moving alone good until I got to the madison side of stoughton. I came up on 3 cars doing 38 mother F***ING mph. Every time there was a passinging zone it was full of on coming cars, so I thought about just passing when I had a chance but decided that I would just wait. I finaly after 4 miles got a chance to pass, so I rolled it up to 60mph, because I know cops like to hang out on 51. Just as I was just past 2 of the 3 cars I see a car coming at me so I roll on it a little more and then cut in. The on coming car was a Dane Co. cop. He pulls me over and I explain to him what had happened and he seems to act like he understands and then walks up to "verifey" the vin on the bike to the plates and noticed the VMC logos down both side and then turns and says he is going to issue a ticket for speeding...WTF . So he gives me a ticket for 75 in a 55 or 20 over and 6 points and $250. At this point I ask him to see the radiar and he said he never locked it in and they don't do that in Dane Co. So now I have to go to court in Madison to see if I can get it lowered, because you know they won't drop it because they are out to get sport bikes.....

hey mike good luck getting that ticket dropped... NOT GONNA HAPPEN!! same thing happend to me and arron on the same ROAD! i asked to see radar and cop said... " didnt have you locked in, I seen 83 flash up and i took after you" I pled not guilty and when it came down to talking to DA she yes SHE said all i can do is reduce it to 16-19 over... i was like fuuuuuuuuuuccccccccccck that... but i took it cause it was better then nothing and i was missing too much work to go to court and bitch about it...

on a good note the DA was reaaaaaaaaaaaally nice looking

speaking of... a cop tried to pull us over thursday night , I thought somebody did a wheelie, so we ran , turns out a newbie stopped for him and the cop was after me 'cause my tag is bent up... so like he said **ck the police!!

Well its BS that he decides to write you up just because of your decals. But just a fair warning, its not required in WI for an officer to show you the radar. Its the same in ALOT of states. Hell I get stopped an average of once every other week on the 929. But then again, when they see that I'm over 40, they usually say "Have a nice day"

 

I just go my first ticket doing 51 in a 30. Tickets $126 and 6 points. The wife and I decided to take Bluemound road ( a way we had never taken) and found out the hard way that it's the only 30 mph double lane road in Milwaukee.

 

i went to court on a ticket like that ... i was told that they have to have the radar readout from the patrol car other wise it will not hold up in front of a judge...call a lawer or talk to a friendly cop in your area if you know one, the DA will try to bs you...but if they have no proof that you were going that fast they cant convict you of it... deffinately check into it ...my ticket was thrown out b cuz the cop hadnt verified his radar...

 

ps ... what the DA says usially does differ from what the judge is allowed to convict....

Thanks for the advice.... I figure I will go in there and NOT be all drop it or else... I plan on going in and calmly explaining what happened and see what they will do... if that doesn't work then I wil need to find a good lawyer... any suggestions???
