"Sir may I see your license?" the policeman said. "You went through a stop sign."
"Yes," the driver admitted, "but i slowed down."
"But you still went through it"
"Yes, but I looked both ways and nothing was coming."
"But you didn't come to a complete stop"
"What the hell is the difference"
"Get out of the car sir"
The man got out and stood by the side of the car. The policeman began to hit in the head repeatedly with his nightstick.
"Now, sir," he said, "do you want me to stop or slow down?"
