My hubby just called and told me that Duker and Jimmy just wrecked pretty bad down in Tenn. He knows that Duker has a busted leg and Jimmy hit the wall pretty hard...hard enough to knock his helmet off. They were both being taken to the hospital and I will keep this updated when I hear from my hubby. I am just asking to keep these guys in your thoughts. Any stunt rider knows that at any moment something like this can happen and its the strength and encouragement from family and friends that get us through this. I will keep you informed once I know more.

Just got off the phone with Garrett and he said that Jimmy is doing ok he has a concusion, scraps, cuts and plenty of bruises and needs to just rest...Duker is being prepped for surgery right now and will have surgery on his leg...they need to twist back the right way and put some pins in.

I will keep this updated after Duker's surgery to let you know how he is doing.

 

They ran into each other and lost control. I am not sure when they will release Duker after his surgery...he may be down there for awhile.

 

Yes it is Jim Mertins...he's doing fine.

 

i called joe to update him and he had called JZ who is also down there he said duker was doing a coaster and jim was doing a burn out or visa versa but im sure thats what he said and they hit each other jim got slamed into the wall some where alone the line jim M. lost his lid and got throwen into the wall he was out for a few min and came two at some point in the ambulance and was talking and **** but thought he was in wisconsin (they are in bristal TN) and duker has a compound fracture some where in his leg. dont quote me all on this cuz its been a game of telephone but from whta JZ told joe and what garet has told lori the stories onfortunetly match pretty well......

i hope the best for both and we will keep you all posted as we hear more!

PS. JZ and jim mertins from free style life style and duker and loris hubby garet are down there.....

 

Duker has been in surgery for about 4 hrs now and is still not out.

Garrett called me to share with me that everyone there has been very kind and very supportive...southern hospitality! I think he even got a little emotional at the response of people willing to stop by the tent and offer the guys money...kind words...help with getting back home to having a place to stay if need be. Everyone from the track has been great and VMC will always have a place to call home in Bristol, Tenn.

I will keep you updated as soon as Duker is out of surgery.

Duker is out of surgery after 4 1/2 hours and is doing well. They had to replace about 3-4 inches of bone with rods and put what looked like a meat market back together again. Garrett said Bob had bone sicking out from the bottom of his foot as well.

He will have to stay at the hospital there in Tenn until tuesday morning. If anyone wants to give him a call he is in

He would probably appreciate hearing some familiar voices!!

I had alot of missed phone calls and messages I was not able to get back to today but thank you for your concern...I know Duker and his family greatly appreciate it.

those ppl in TN are great!!!! the last time we were down there they were great some of the nicest ppl on earth!!!! def some great hospitality down there!!!!

 

My bad...I thought he said bottom of foot...I guess it was sticking out by his ankle and top of foot. Said it kinda looked like a pork chop bone sticking out...
Hey make sure you give him a call and harrass him while he is on morphine!!

They did...and Duker who was more worried about getting that **** on video than his leg snapped in half like a chicken bone...

"Make sure you're getting this **** on video!! Come take a picture of my leg dude...it looks f-in cool!" says Duker. And anyone that knows Bob can so hear him saying that ****.
