Re: ebay
Send me the auction # and I'll check it out for you. Shipping is 400 at www.forwardair.com. I've bought 2 bikes from ebay and I never had a problem. Just make sure it's a reputable seller. I've also sold a few bikes. Just remember, if it looks too good to be true, it probably isn't.
Re: ebay
I've bought a couple bikes on ebay too, the key is get additional information. Make the seller provide quality pics of drivers license, get a signed agreement in writing and something regarding the stated condition in there as well before money is paid. I generally pay by cashiers check through registered mail (it can be next day air if that makes the seller happy), make the seller aware that any wrong doing at this point falls into the felonious category of "Interstate Mail Fraud". The more information each party has, the more honest and accountable everyone stays. If one party is reluctant to reveal personal information, I'd be reluctant to complete the transanction.

I've bought cars and bikes off of ebay, fireblade really hit the nail on the head. You just got be careful. Most of the times I've purchased vehicles off of ebay I've actually gone to the seller's location. Fly out of ATL and drive back. It makes it a lot harder to get screwed and it costs the same *** shipping, usually cheaper, but you do need a flexible schedule.

Re: ebay
yea man, be carefull... i put up a post a few days ago, where i was going to buy a 954rr for a DAMN good price ($1500 shipped, and he was originally asking $3500+shipping), and the guy was from australia, but said he was in the UK... so after a few replies back to my post, a buddy gave me an idea of telling the guy that i had family there on vacation that could pick the bike up, so i told him, next email i got was him saying the bike had already been sold (when he said earlier i was the only person interested in it)... so be carefull and do your research...
Re: ebay
its one thing to buy in another state on Ebay but NEVER buy from another country lol.. even if they scam ya straight out nothing you can do about it, over seas lol. stick to the US and prefer to stick locally cuz when ya get screwed it sucks. but if you buy it like that other guy said make him take a picture of his License and **** send it to you so you got his addy and info he screws ya make a personal trip to his house.
Re: ebay
Don't mess with any international deals. They tell you that they are out of the country for a reason. They can even send you a fony Ebay email saying that they are a safe seller and they are backed by Ebays buyer protection. The truth is if you send money internationally, they are in the clear. The FBI will not persue any international matter of this sort unless it exceeds $10,000.00. And don't think for 1 second that Ebay's buyer protection policy will help.
Even if you get the FBI or some other agency to help you, they probably will not ever get your money back. You really can't go by a seller's feedback either anymore. So many people can get into others Ebay accounts with good feedback and post an auction. Basically, if they tell you shipping is free or they tell you they are out of the country on business, just forget about it. You will loose your money. I know this stuff from personal experience. No one will help you get your money back either.
I recently met a doctor who bought a BMW from a dealer out of Germany and got jacked out of $75k. He used escrow and everything for the deal, but the escrow companies were set up by the seller and were fake all the way. When he sent the money to the escrow company, he sent it straight to the sellers bank account. And guess what, there ain't SH*T any one can do to help him.
As a seller, you should also beware of buyer's who tell you they are agents for a buyer who is out of the country or they are an international dealer. They will tell you they are going to send you a cashiers check for the purchase, the agent fees, and shipping. Then they will tell you to wire the agent fees and shipping back to them. Don't do that either. Thier are a ton of bogus cashiers checks going around right now. Anyone with a computer can print those off. Never wire money. Western Union is NOT SECURE!!
Most of this should be common sense, but they can make up all kinds of **** to tell you to steal you money. Just be cautious either way. I have bought cars and bikes off ebay, but I wouldn't recomend buying anything like a bike or car unless I could go pick it up. Sorry for the long reply, but I have dealt with this stuff in the past and I can tell you how any of these deals will end. That is my opinion.

Re: ebay
My advice is also the same...do not buy internationally.....I called western union and emailed and was told the same thing.... I had a bike i wanted to buy last year and the bastard wanted me to western union him the money in my name or some stupid name so only he could get it....f that...do not do it...for the extra $$ it costs, buy locally or if u do buy out of another state..check the bakground info on the seller....just my
Re: ebay
what up GA? I am in McDonough GA and i agree with everyone else. It just depends on how the people handle their business. I was in California working and I found the bike that I wanted on ebay, it was in Oklohoma. I emailed the guy and told him i really wanted the bike but i would not be in GA until 3wks later. we talked he saw and felt that i was serious and he held my "MAN" until i got back. HELL YEAH, and i drove 15 hours ONE WAY to go scope him up 2005 miles round trip. If you don't believe me look at my bank account the balance is $0.56. I am dead broke but I couldn't get it financed so i worked and saved, worked and saved, and worked and saved and in 4 months got me 2004 GSXR 750. It was worth every penny. You can call me Justin Timberlake "cry me a river" , i am just letting you know my experience with ebay. KNOW THE SELLER SEE WHAT HE IS WILLING TO DO FOR THE CUSTOMER, U NEED TO SEE IT FIRST
