GSXR Problems

Alright, here is what just happened. I went to start my 02 750 and when I pushed the starter button it made the initial sputtering like it was gonna start and then all the lights dimmed really fast and it did not have any power at all. It didn't start or anything. Then I waited about two minutes or so and tried again. This time it started on the first try but about one second after it was running I heard a snap in the engine and it started to smoke out of the exhaust alot any time I would give it any throttle at all. I deffinately did not ride it at all then. It is also making a vibrating/clicking noise that sounds like it is coming from the right side of the engine. Do any of you guys know what this could be. It is driving me crazy because the weather here in TX is about 80 right now and I wanna ride. Thanks for the help.

Re: GSXR Problems

It's possible that your cam chain jumped timing and your valves are tapping your pistons.

Re: GSXR Problems

fouled spark plug(s).. rod knock, bent valve, cuped valves, list goes on dude, i suggest checking spark plugs first, then check if they fire, then if worse comes to worse, pull the head, that will reveal most likely everything. i say also pull the spark plugs and get the rear in the air and put the bike in gear and spin the tire with the spark plugs out and listen for any knock from spec cylinders. sounds like u might have spun bearing or bent valve n **** or just some simple spark plug knocks.

Re: GSXR Problems

definetely check the cam chain. the automatic tensioners on gsxr s are notorious for going out and causing a ticking or slapping noise on the right side of the engine. i am almost positive that is where your problem is.

if it is just buy a manual cam chain tensioner from ape and maybe a chain if you need one.
