Best way to learn rear brake?

Whats up guys. I can ride 1st gear wheelies out most of the time and can decently ride 2nd gear. I have been wanting to learn my rear brake I adjusted it so I would feel comfortable but need to adjust it some more. Whats the best way to learn this. Everytime I wheelie I think after the fact to cover the brake. Thanks Joe

The fastest way to learn to use the brake: turn up the idle
The best way to learn to use the brake: 50, dirtbike, or quad

It's pointless to tell you how to learn the rear brake, cuz everyone learns differently but ill tell you anyways. The way I learned is to keep pulln back on your wheelies and ride the brake a lil bit and parkin to get used to being back really far, be careful though cause when you learn the rear brake you tend to ride them to hard and this will make your rotor glow and boil your brake fluid and mess up the seals in your master cylinder. Before you know it you'll clutch up a wheelie and go to hit the brake and the pressure wont be there, they'll just push all the way down. A quad is good to learn on also...

Quads Are Great To Learn Brake And Bp. When U Go Up On A Wheelie Allways Cover The Pedal With Foot. When U Get Up High Step On The Brake A Little While Still In The Gas. You Will Learn What It Will Do. Practice This For A While . It`s Your Saftey Net When You Over Rev R Clutch. They Will Over Heat Like Said When You Start Hangin Out On The Back Side Of Bp . If It Will Lock Up The Rear Wheel It`s Ok For Some More Abuse

Re: Best way to learn rear brake?

when i bought my f4i the front rotors were bent so i took the the brake lever off and rode around town carefully with only the rear brake. After about a week i was covering that thing soo much. Now i have front brakes too and i feel like i cant stay away from the rear, but too my point.. I started trying 12's and that helped me with my brake skills big time. I can do 12's and slow wheelies consistantly. Be carefull man, wear gear too. :YEAH

Keep that right foot active at all times and put some stink on that practice routine. I like the idea of removing the front brake as it would force you to use the rear brake.
What I did before was chopp the throttle and stamp the brake, snap the throttle and stamp the brake. This method helped me quite a bit but it's all up to you!! Saved me a few times and slowing un down is now a little eaiser.

Re: Best way to learn rear brake?

keep it covered at all times, start out by just tapping it while your in a wheelie. get the feel for it, eventually you will be applying even pressure to it and slowwing that **** down, im no master by any means but i can slow them down from 60 to 25 or 30 now. just takes practice, and all your gonna do if you hit it too hard is come down out of the wheelie, you will prob. do this quite a bit till you get the hang of it.

4 wheeler, you don't have to worry about the side to side action, just the forward back motion.

Re: Best way to learn rear brake?

do drills... hit the brake randomly during wheelies and see how the brake affects things, it'll link to your muscle memory and it'll be there when you need it. when it 12s you dont have time to think, you gotta have it in your brain
