Hey I Got An 03 R6 And Just Wanted To Know If I Need To Do Anything To My Bike If I Want To Try And 12 O Clock It. My Boy Has The Same Bike And His Motor Just Died On Him While Doing A 12. I Know On Gsx-r You Should Change The Oil Pan And Was Wondering If You Need To Do Any Mods Like That For A 12.

Im Not Talking About Gearing, Cages, Etc.

AS FAR AS MY BOY'S BIKE DYING ON HIM. IS THIS NORMAL? HE HASNT TAKEN IN TO THE SHOP TO FIND OUT EXACTLY WHAT WENT WRONG BUT THE BIKE WAS ONLY VERTICAL FOR MAYBE 45 SEC. THE BIKE WILL TRY AND START BUT ENGINE WONT TURN OVER. JUST CURIOUS

 

It sounds like it's hydro locked, from too much oil getting in the topend! Try pullin the plugs to see if it will turn over then! I'v heard of other people on R6's havin the same problem, because the crankcase is vented into the airbox! If u search for (R6 smoking at 12) you should find the thread, ther will be some helpful info in there for ya!
