Re: Cheap tires

i get mine from a local sportbike dealer. most dealers don't patch up tires, so when they get flats, they just throw 'em in the back. i simply walk in and be like, yo do u have any flat tires for me? 9 out of 10 times i walk out wit a set for around $40 bucks. you'd be suprised how much tread is on some of them tires. patch that son b*tch up and bada bing.

Re: Cheap tires

........ wait one min here .......you guys got it all wrong .........shops have to pay to get rid of used tires ,even when you buy car tires you have to pay extra unless your taking the tires with you . just go to a few local shops ask if you can pick threw there used tires and take em off there hands they will do it ,and it saves the shop money and you can get some real nice ones they may need a plug or only be about 50 % thred left on them ,some are in great shape ,but thats good enough for a stunter to burn up .thats what we do, we have 2 shops up here that call us when they get to many old used tires we save them money and it helps us out , none of us in 346 have paid for a rear tire in the last 2 years , now fronts are diff them we buy new when we need then b/c of endos etc etc ,but sometime we will get a few good used front just in case let me know what you guys come up with .

Re: Cheap tires

I have about 80 like new sportbike tires in my basement right now, I have made about 3000,00 in the last 6 months selling these tires on ebay that I got for free, I get practically brand new race takeoffs that sell for a GRIP! You guys are going to see me on those late night infomercials on how to make quick cash by placing tiny little adds on ebay. :YEAH

Re: Cheap tires

Does it really matter if the front and the rear tire match brand wise?

It doesnt matter as far as the brand goes. But size will play a key role in the handling of your bike, For example, Lets say you have a 120/60/17 in the front and a 180/55/17 in the rear (stock size). Lets say you want to put a 190 or even a 200 on the rear, For looks. Be carefull because I've come to realize that when you make corners and you have a wider rear tire, and a skinny rim like the 900rr's your rear swings wider than your front and it throws you off a little. Some bikes like the gsxrs and the r1s have wider rear rims and a wide tire won't be as round while on the rim. Think about it.
