oh so twitchy

ok so i got a 954. i went down 1 tooth in the front and it helped a little bring it up all around and i got real used to it. i started trying slow **** but by the time i got it up i was going faster than i wanted to.

so i went up +8 in the rear and now its so twitchy. it is almost scarier with the big sprocket on there then going faster without it. when i go on the highway i ride them out real smooth in 3rd. but first just seems rediculous. i cant keep it smooth. everyone is choppy and scared the **** out of me.

so do i just need to work on throttle control or is there something else i should be doing?

Re: oh so twitchy

As long as you have the rear brake covered, crank your idle up to 3 to 3.5K that will help a lot. When you hit BP and back off the throttle, the high idle will keep it there and you will have to ride the brake a little to get it back through BP.
Post your success. And wear your gear.

I was on that Boston run.... the night that Johnny from DTE got hit on Newbury st? You don't need brake control, just get that idle higher and you'll smoth out.

flametoe ~ Manchester isn't that far from us in Burlington. You got some sick spots up there? We should get together and rock out. A few of us will road trip over to you guys sometime soon.

Re: oh so twitchy

-1 +11 here on my 954. You just have to get good w/ rear brake and stay steady on the throttle. Clutch it up to BP as quick as you can.

and....

PRACTICE....PRACTICE....PRACTICE....PRACTICE....
