Skitching
While my crunchy piece (FZR600) isnt the best for stunting, I have been doing a few things for fun on it such as riding with no hands in various positions and such.
Anyways, I have recently been attempting skitching, or trying at least. Part of it is fear, because when I go to get off the bike, it turns slightly in the direction of the side I get off on. Does anyone here have some tips on skitching? How do you get on and off the bike? I am thinking of just leaning on the tank to get off faster, but was wondering if any of you had some better suggestions.
Thanks.

Re: Skitching
Chris, you can stunt that thing!! I rocked one of those back in the day and used to ride 4 gear wheelies. It takes a little work to get the thing up in 2nd, but it will. As for skitchin.... I don't like it so I have no advice for you.

Re: Skitching
i used to own a fzr600 but never did any stunts, now i own a 929 and started stunting. but anyways the way i do it is:
i stant up take my right leg swing it behind my left then start lowering my body to where my armpits are gripping the tank real good( the use of my leather jacket helps quite a bit) and then put your legs down, but don't stand up just feel the ground, my roomate is also learning and for him trying it out with one foot helps. as for going to the side since all you weight is on one side of the bike you have to compesate by steering the other way a little bit. the way i would practice steering is standing up with right foot on the left peg and try and go straight, once you can do that you'll be good to start skitching.
good luck be safe.

Re: Skitching
I just started skitching the other day, the main problem is getting back up. I think I was going maybe 30-40MPH, and it just seems easier to skim my feet on the ground smoothly when I'm traveling a little faster.
I almost busted my azz a couple times trying to get back on the bike, any of you guys have suggestions on how to do it well (and make it look good?)

Re: Skitching
Try putting your left foot back on the shifting peg first then swing the right leg back over the bike to get back on...practice....makes perfect...
as for getting off do the opposite of what I said for getting on...right foot over and down first, then lift the left foot off of the peg...try it slow...you'll get faster as time goes on...
I know I posted that wierd but you'll understand...
Have fun...

Re: Skitching
007 pretty much summed it up... i say definitly get off on the leftside of bike i rest my weight on my right forarm on the tank. to get back on the bike try putting your left foot infront of your right leg on the peg then swing your right leg over the seat, practice with your bike sitting still going through the motions without looking at your feet that way you know exactly where your pegs are without thinking about it. when you do try it dont panic if you cant get back on just pull the clutch in and coast to a stop i think 35mph is a good learning speed......wear gear its the easiest trick to learn but i hate to see a 17 year old kid go down
