a fun rant about dumb tricks.

How long does it take before dumb tricks go away for good? Stunting has progressed to the point where people are able to pull of some super impressive tricks. Its not like back in the day when people used to judge wheelies by distance and stoppies by height and people just made up any old trick to be different. How long before stuff like side skitches and bar tricks go away for good? I guess some bar tricks are kinda cool, but most of em are stupid. I mean, just stop and think about them and you will realize they are stupid. Is it really that hard to park your bike on a huge 14 inch plate hanging off the back of your tail section and do some goofy pose? Bars server a purpose other than bar tricks I guess.. but if that **** is wider than the stock brake light its gotta go. Is there anyone out there that actually thinks those big bars look cool? Standing in the bar is stupid too.

And side skitches.. come on.. thats not cool any way you look at it. Rear skitches can be kinda cool if you are hauling *** or do stuff like that guy that won sickest trick at the xxx comp recently.. but what the hell can you combo into a side skitch? lol. LET THAT **** DIE!

You forgot riding around standing on the tank, riding around sitting on the tank, riding around in highchair position, non moving burnouts, and powerslides.

Re: a fun rant about dumb tricks.

I made one of those little round bars for myself and wont ever go back to a standard bar. I like having something back there for when you scrape SS, HC or spreader so it doesnt wad your tail up. I've never had a problem clutching down SS off the round bar either. Its just like balancing a wheelie no different. Actually easier than with a standard bar because if you get off balance a little it doesnt pop from corner to corner on concrete. The only thing you lose is those *cough* dumb 5mph bar tricks. You can do some nice distance scrapes if you are into that with the round bars as well.. a couple weekends I was throwing seat standers on the round bar topped out in 3rd and scraping down until I was going 10mph or so. I dunno why I was doing it.. but it was fun at the time.

Preach On Brotha. Those Tricks Will Always Be Around As Long As Events Have Crowd Participation Judging.

Re: a fun rant about dumb tricks.

I'm gonna have to disagree.. partly because I still suck and am not good enough to bust circle wheelies / even 12 yet. Some of the simpler stuff, while it is kinda gay once you get into it and see how easy it is to do, is really impressive to the general public / non stuntrider motorcycle ppl. And it's always nice to see some changeup instead of circle wheelie after circle wheelie. (And I'm not knockin circle wheelies lol..) Am I way off here or is anyone gonna back me?
Also, it's nice to do simpler stuff and build confidence in between trying to learn harder shiat.

Re: a fun rant about dumb tricks.

i think they are just old and gay to you guys now because you're far more advanced then those tricks now.. where as most of us beginners who are just learning to 12v and slow wheelie like to do some simple bar tricks. christs and stuff, its beginner tricks. not like we can all aim to go and learn circles, seat stander scrapes, nice long coaster tail touching within couple months. takes time and practice. besides like he said how long can you really watch people do circle after circle no hander after no hander, but yeah the circle combos are nasty no doubt but it is cool to see a mix up of acrobatics, bar tricks, i still love the dead christ. imo, the guardian and kane insane. some cool tricks to see and try

Skitching and christs and etc. are just unecessary and dangerous. There's no reason to go out on the highway and hang off your bike or stand on it.

sideskitches dont even look cool. Thats something you only do within the first week you own your bike.. and then never again. especially the stick one leg out version...

Re: a fun rant about dumb tricks.

honestly, there are tons of poeple who cannot do SS circles, scrape SS, scrape spreader, scrape Spec-K, etc.etc.etc.

Everyone starts somewhere, I know that when i get my big bike, the first week ro so, i'll be rocking those "no handed go straights" and "no handed peg standers"

but honestly, no everyone can rock a no hander sit down circle, or even a very good idle wheelie.

skitchin is something that when some poeple see, they flip out. I've shown alot of my stunt videos to friends and family, and they love to see a nice side skitch, they just can't imagine hanging off your bike like that.

they got bored of the circles really fast though I tried showing them that stuntfreaks stuntwars 05 video, you know the 90% circles one? they wouldn't have it, told me to turn it off and go back to some of the Streefighters ****.....

Here is my take on it.

Are the tricks you mentioned hard?

No.

Are they gay???

Well you and I think so.

Is there a place for them in professional riding??

Hell yes!!! It's about make the masses happy if we want the Major sponcer to stand up and take notice. How many times have we all been at shows and one guys doing circles and a guy goes down the track standing on the seat and half the crowds heads explode from that dumbAss Trick?

I agree there gay but some of them make for a good show.

Re: a fun rant about dumb tricks.

as much as i hate it i agree to do good shows and stuff you have to do crowd pleasers and to the untrained eye a guardian or cliff hanger is alot cooler than a highchair scrape, cuz most the time if you scrap highchair or spreader or somthin to a crowd of lil kids and women they just think you went to far back on accident and the bar on the back saved you from crashing......

Re: a fun rant about dumb tricks.

side skitching is still gay.

kxrider, thats why the player bars are cooler.. they dont know you have one cause you dont have a humungous flap of metal hanging off the back of your bike... that **** is booty.. looks like training wheels.. IT IS TRAINING WHEELS...

You can still do bar tricks with a 6 inch plate.. it just takes some skill. THEN bar tricks would be impressive.

Put some titanium plates or your shoes, and do a 70 mpg side skitch at a show when it's getting dark, and the crowd won't think that skitching is gay

also, the highchiar scrape thing is right, even if you have a stock tail, it looks like you ****ed up, that's what i thought when i first saw tony d do it.

i even went and got my dad and was like "he almost died!!!!"
