2nd gear clutch ups without use of rear brake

Is it possible to master 2nd gear clutch ups with covering the rear brake ? Do you know someone who has it on lock without use of the rear brake? The reason I ask is because I have seen guys do tank wheelies and high chairs. That strictly must be throttle control and balance.

Thanks rdccarpet I may have to invest in a hand brake. I can't cover the rear brake unless I sit way back and that feels way unconforatble. I would just hate to loop my R-1 learning, and I cant afford a stunt bike right now.

way back when this all started, all the highway stuff was done without rear brake and just pure balance. Many moons later.. today highway stuff is still sometines done without rear brake and just pure balance.

KUSHAW first off if your learning this **** me personally i would invest in a crash cage good safety equipment and if u got a pretty bike i would take the plastics off and go streetfight till u learn enough to be comfortable but anyways to your question......

first off if ur on the street and u clutch it up in second u will realize u dont cover the brake in the first place u will feel the balance and throttle(i think its natural instinct) second clutch ups personally i think is harder to loop than anything but just get the feel for it nice and easy and then eventually u will get the feel of it without the back brake and u can rock them forever just take your time and dont push urself harder than your ability becuase thats when u **** up hard so just be safe wear a helmet have fun

make wheelies not drama
peace

I never used the rear brake for 2nd gear highway stuff standup, spreader whatever. Never got in tune with the back brake until slow stuff

Thanks to all. Korno1 you have a great point about removing the plastic and investing in a cage until I got 2nd on lock. That's probably what I'll do. It's way cheaper that droppin the R-1 or spending 3-4 grand on a stunt bike. I have a great spot I practice at every sunday afternoon. I can't damage property or hurt anyone but myself. I'm taking it slow-- peace

park the R1 and use it for your "pretty" bike and buy a beat 900. I had problems with my R1 and kept burning the rear brake out. The balance point on the R1 also sucks escpecially on the higway. They are very twitchy. As for Highchairs and spreaders, a lot of these guys are running high gear and using the engine as a brake. ALLWAYS cover the rear brake and find a parking lot to practice in. I found that once I got the slow stuff down, I can rock the hell outta the streets.

Yeah I would love to buy a beat 900 but I don't have extra cash. Actaully I my cousin knows this guy who is selling a 89 gsrx-r750 and a 89 kaw zx-600.
Will either one of these bike do as a stunt bike? If so what's the max one should charge for bikes that old.

I got my clean titled 900 for 3K. That is the going price for a good stunter. Just look around when fall comes and you can find good deals. If you are going to keep it a stunter and not register the bike, buy a salvage F4 or 900 on Ebay.

Ya if you buy something just for stunt and has salvage or just a bill of sale you can usually get nice deals. Post a want ad up on here and some other sites. Get a lot bike and keep your R1 for the street.

I 2nd that when i got my fiddy i hardly even rode the f4i anymore. Good to learn brake control on then take it to the big bike. you can get 2 brand new 50's cheaper than a decent stunt bike..and almost as much if not more fun sometimes

dan gates I thought one could stunt anything, I saw a video of this dude stuntin a heavy *** harley- this guy even scaped the back end. I know my big *** would probably break a fiddy 5'9 240ish. If this guy will sell the 89 gsxr-750 with 25k on the odemeter for 400.00 I might snactch it.

you can stunt them just not that well. the rear tire is skinny which does make a huge differance the clutch is rougher(ninja). im just tellin you its not that easy. you will be more frustrated with one of those.
