its cuz you arent reving it high enough before slipping the clutch. or you arent slipping the clutch fast and smooth enough

Just look at the avatar of those giving you advice. Let their skills do the talking.
Personally I learned on a CX650 Custom and had to clutch it up. Just take small steps. I suggest that you try this.

Find a long flat straight and moderately excellerate in 1st gear. When you just start to pass through 3500-4000 rpm, pull in your clutch for a second (don't roll off the gas) and pop it out. This will give you a bounce effect. The forks are fully extended under excelleration, once you pull the clutch in they will compress and start to rebound back to level. This is when you are letting off the clutch and the rpm bump plus rebound will get that wheel off the ground.
That is a good starting point for you. Then all you have to do is roll on more power or hold the clutch in longer.
Stand up vs sit down. Sit at first, but if you are going the power-up/highspeed route. Stand ups are easier to get your bike up in 2nd. That's my

Re: Clutch it up vs. powering up?

many say to pull the clutch fast and when the revs rise then pop it. I say still too much starting speed. at least with bike that is not geared.

I usually just pull the clutch, then slow it down with the rear brake to the speed I want to start with. Then rev it couple of times to get the feel, and when the revs are going up I drop the clutch and give it just little gas.

Re: Clutch it up vs. powering up?

I have been working on powering them up, just to get a good feel for my bike. The more wheelies i do the more comfortable I get clutching them up. I am ordering frame sliders today, so I can don't have to worry about dropping the bike anymore.

i do both i clutch it up at lower speeds but if im in the power band already and just got the feel to bring it up i just hit the gas and sit on the seat and look around the side of the bike so i can see.. but ya i do prfer to clutch it and stand.. i say keep the stock gears and power it up in first once you got a better idea of what your doing or want to do you can make a better desision of what gears to put on it, i feel comfortable powering it i never feel like ill loop it

True. But I already want to sprocket the bike because it does have a little lack of power. I bought it for a stunt bike to begin with, so its just a matter of time before it rides and looks like one.
