900rr spark plug removal

What do you guys use to remove the spark plugs on a 900RR? I was trying my plug wrench then I realized it's not even going into the plug hole very far. Only socket I can get to fit inside is a long 10mm or 12mm I have and it doesn't fit the plug? Help quickly if possible.

go get the cheapest socket you can, the walls are thinner and it will fit, or do what i did and take the socket to the grinder and take the outside down a little...either will work, i had that same problem when i got my 900rr

Re: 900rr spark plug removal

I just dropped a 10mm socket or whatever size the plug is in hole, put a long extension on the ratchet and put the extension down in the hole to connect it to the socket and loosened it. The extension wouldnt go all the way down on the socket because the plugs were to tall, but if u press down and turn it, it should loosen it. I had trouble getting the socket and plug out so I used a long stick magnet to pull them both out. It's not to hard doing it that way.

Thanks guys I was finally able to get it out after purchasing a new socket. All mine were to fat to fit into the hole.
