newbie (wheelie question)
newbie (wheelie question)
I am new to stunting. Never really tried to wheelie yet , but I have a 94 900rr +2 on the rear don't know about the front. My question is do you think I should start working on slow wheelies first or fast. What speed should I start at and what gear. Never had the front wheelie off the ground. Anything helps thanx
Re: newbie (wheelie question)
im sort of new too,but 99.5% of people start with fast wheelies, but go SLOW learning how to wheelie at all, just play around wacking the throttle sitting down in first or second gear.then once you get the feel for the front wheel being off the ground then comes more complex stuff, stand ups, clutching it up etc etc,but start off with small little power wheelies and keep the rear brake covered no matter what.
Re: newbie (wheelie question)
Being a newbie with very limited experience I can say the best thing that worked for me was powering it up in 1st sitting down till you get used to the sensation of the front end lifting up... gotta be careful though. try your best to use the brake. Once you get used to it work on clutchin it up. It'll feel so much more predictable and smooth and you'll be able to control how far they come up right away by clutching them... makes it faster and easier to hit BP. I've floated in and out of it... it just fell so weird I would freak and drop it. Need much much much more practice. Just play with it. Have some *****. With a liter bike you shouldn't have any problems at all... especially with it being geared! Good luck bro! and be safe!
Re: newbie (wheelie question)
i think the best way to learn is in 2nd, first is way to touchy try doin 35-40 pull in clutch w, middle finger(i started using middle&index)dont try to watch rpms ,but listen to the motor whip it to half+ throtle and let out clutch at same time , the lower rpm you release at the more the bike will jerk you.

Re: newbie (wheelie question)
if your gonna try first gear ,chop the throtle at around 4 grand an it should come up really easy get used to it that way , second gear go about 40-45mph snap the clutch an give it half throtle an your up ....the only bit of advice that i can really give you is when trying to wheelie cover the rear brake if it comes up to fast or you feel like your gonna go over just give it a lil bit of preasure an it will come right back down . good luck in learning an be safe bro.....
