Just bought a F4i... Best Gearing???

I just got a 2003 Honda CBR 600 F4i and It is just go-nna be my stunt bike so It doesnt have to be highway rideable. I am gonna be getting the FI cage and 12 ocklock bar. I am a pretty big guy 6'5" 280 lbs. so I dont know if that affects anything gear wise. I can do stand ups and sitdown wheelies fine on my TL-1000R but thought I should get a lightwieght bike for my stunter... Let me know what you guys think.

He asked for advice on sprockets, not what bike he should have got...

I would say go -1+5 or keep stock in front and go anywhere from +10 thru +15. I got -1+3 on mine right now, bout to go stock back up front and slap on a +10...

Hold up you got it cause it was a "hot bike".... how long you been ridin'?
but anyways learn the **** stock... then gear it once you get it down stock...
or if you absolutely want gearin'
i don't know.. wouldn't be the person to answer that... seems like you could throw that bike around like a fiddy with your size

well im sorry if i hurt his feelings......

but he is a big dude..... a bigger bike would be more suitable..... and that is a fact.... but the f4i is a good bike.... it is very durable...... i also would recomend staying with stock for a while until you get use to it.... if not just go up a little bit...... i just got my sprocket set and it is down 3 and up 10.... but i dont recommend something like that just yet.... id say.... just go up like 2 or 3 and down one.....

Re: Just bought a F4i... Best Gearing???

I have been riding for a little over a year. My first biek was a 1995 FZR 600 then I bought the TL-1000R and now I just picked up the F4i too. I have put a little over 10,000 miles on all my bikes added together..

I know how to do all the basic **** ( stand-ups, sit downs, endoes) on my TL-1000R so I am not a complete newbie to bikes.

And I got the F4i for a rediculous steal.... Lets just say I could have paid more for a cbr 600f2 than what I paid for this 03 f4i. I cant afford a newer 929 or 954.

The bike was laid down on the right side and the clutch cover was cracked and so was the right side fairing other than that the bike is perfect.

hey bimrpwr, i have da 600fi '03 model. i jus use it for stunting, my advice would be to stay stock for a while and then put -1 +10 gearing on it. thats what i have and my fi is kicka$$ now. :YEAH

Re: Just bought a F4i... Best Gearing???

obviously you guys havent seen clumbsybiker on his f4??? Or what about Scott from stunters on his f4i https://www.stuntlife.com/forums/281-stunt-bike-pictures/84570-wiiddee-angle-shots.html

i wouldnt even do the -1+2/3, waste of money and ya might as well leave it stock... IMHO, didnt see much of a difference over stock.. I'd at least go -2+2 or -1+5(which is pretty much the same). Or I'd keep the stock front and go with a +10thru+14... Its all up to you man, the choice is yours homie.

Or talk to Phil at http://www.moto-heaven.com he'll be able to send you in the tright direction and answer any questions you have...

the r6 is a fine bike.... but, it sub frame breaks alot from were it connects to the frame and the parts are pretty expensive and hard to find.... my roomate has an r6 and he stunts the **** out of it..... and there just not as durable as a honda.... but its all in what you want.....

I can't understand why some people go out and buy new 954's to turn into a stunt bike. You want a stunt bike buy a wrecked up 900RR off someone on stuntlife for 1500 then get yourself a 954 to keep pretty. Just my

It's too easy to buy a busted bike off ebay or a salvage auction instead of pay 200 dollars a month for something you're wrecking every day.

Re: Just bought a F4i... Best Gearing???

I stunt my r6 but just had to do alot of work to make it right. The p.c.v. system causes it to lose oil if you spend any time on the bar. I had to lower my float height 3mm. to make it not flood out when your on the bar. It floods out if you rock stoppies 300ft or more.just sick of it.
