Heres the deal. trying to build a 12 bar for my zx-6 but dont know how to get around all the bull sh*t on the sub frame. i.e. passenger hand grip mounts and other sh*t on sides of the sub. anybody that has one please help.

 

I actually grinded mine off. I don't have the passenger hand grip things anymore. F em. But if you wanna keep them, I've seen a lot of peeps go around them. Almost putting the base of the bar on the bottom of that.. Its all custom, just make it however it works.

If ya don't wanna deal with Bullsh** the I would grind off those two little nubs that attach the black grip things...

alright but how about the actual mounting?????

 

Lay the flat bars against the subframe - drill 2 or 3 holes in each side through the bars and through your subframe(try to stay in the middle of each post for strength)

 

make your bar sides as wide as both subframe bars and criss cross holes and bolt it through both bars

 

the less holes you drill the stonger it'll be. I used 2 peices of angle and slid them down the inside of the sub frame so they cupped it then tacked the plate on. use the holes you have to mount the bar ,make some plates to weld to the angle this way you can line these up with the holes already there, drill some holes in the plates weld them on the angle bolt it on and bam it's lunch time.what year is your 6? I had a 99 and played hell sunting on it due to the carbs.

bolt it to the inside vaz, thats how i had mine on the zx6r, grind anything thats in your way off after that.
