throttle control...
damn, this is a long post. I ride a 91 F2, pipe, stock gearing, extended sliders.
I've been working HARD on my first gear standups lately & made alot of progress in the past week. This is my first season with a 600, and I clutch them up and ride them decent ~4 car-lengths. I just have a few questions. I've gotten video's of myself, and from what it looks/feels like when its up, I think im right before the balance point. The bike gets somewhat light when its up, I was practicing in a parking lot before going home, had a couple good ones, then the last one I 'grabbed sack' and rocked it back a little further, It got REAL light, I chopped the throttle and it just floated there and tipped to the left a little. then it dropped down finally. I thought i was gonna crash, (I wish i would have that on tape to know how far back it was.)
ANYWAYS!
im guessing that was the 'balance point' and I went back a little too far. Do you just usually just roll off the throttle a little as it comes up, or do you catch it with the rear brake when it gets up like that.
one more thing, what is the best way to practice the rear brake. Should I just pull it up and practice bringing it down with the brake or what?
thanks guys, Im determined to get standups for blocks by the end of this summer.

Re: throttle control...
Yeah you hit balance point, not sure if you went too far. Just be careful practicing setting the bike down with the rear brake, if you hit it to hard with the throttle off and you're still below BP it could slam down really hard.
to learn your brake always have your foot on it while u bring it up, and just get the feeling its always there. when u start getting your wheelies behind the bp then i would say ride em hard at first untill u get use to being back that far...
