Oil pickup is it a must for GSXR

I do 12s at times, practicing slow rolls.
My oil light never came on, my motor runs excellent, can't hear any pinging.
Is the oil pickup a must or not really. When should I get worried or should I just get it?

I would say you dont have to have it but i know for a fact it has to help alot, cuz 12'n with a stock pickup means your engine is not circulating any oil at all, when a bikes on 12 the stock pickup is pointing up and is located in the top of the oil pan on gsxr's, that means the oil pickup is totally in the opposite place that it needs to be and here its only suckin air. Before i installed my pickup, i put my bike on the bar and let it run for a few seconds, it wasnt long and i could hear the engine start to tap a little bit cuz it wasnt getting any oil. With the new pickup you can let it run on 12 all day and its always circulating oil. I think the only you may still get a oil light is if you have like a 2 o'clock bar, alot of people run xtra oil in their bikes for this situation. If youre interested in purchasing one visit www.stuntex.com. The price has been lowered to $69.00 from $125.00, Because they found a new manufacturer. Hope this helps.........

Yah, I saw the price reduced. My only problem is I would have to cut my crash cage off. My cage is bent & I can't get to the side screws to take it off. That's the only reason why I'm asking -- not rushing to trash my cage if you know what I mean...

powers. did a 12 and didn't pull the clutch in > lost control & bike fell to the right, cage moved "as a whole" to the left - just enough so I can't fit a socket in to access the bolt. Cage is still solid, but unable to remove
