Complete gearing help
Complete gearing help
Can someone please completly explain gearing effects to me. Im not stupid or something, and I know basics of it, but I'm interester how the bike (throttle, engine breaking, getin it up, throttle sensitivity and everything else that gearing changes) reacts on certain gearing. I don't have a chance to ride geared bike and would like to inform myself before puttin some on. Also just to mention I would like to start practicing slow-mo, so what would be the best for me on 636.
Gears slow your roll (top end), bikes a lil more jumpy, helps your wheelies clutch up faster, u have to learn to be really smooth on your throttle, u also get more engine brakking out of a geared bike, i would probably go up 14 in the rear, and leave your front sprocket stock, i dont reccomend going down on your front sprocket it beats up your guides, chain, and makes the bike more torqy, put all the gear in the rear. talk to phil @ moto-heaven.com he has the hookup on all your gearing needs....
