i usually run all my helmets through the dishwasher. Then I let them dry in the sun.

Re: how to clean a helmet?

you should always wear a dew rag this keeps the stink and sweat out of your helmet all my old helmets smell like new inside cause i wear one
and a dew rag you chunk in the washer fresh for the next ride
use mr clean or lysol and a finger brush and scrub the inside rinse it all out then use a dry vac to suck out the excess water let air dry
if you dont dry vac it it will mildew your helmet and waiste the foam liners
guts so to speak
i paint and restore helmets this is all from experience

*** that, leave that **** dirty and stinky, it'll remind you of how hard you had to practice to get your stunts on lock
