954 wont start
Re: 954 wont start
You probably damaged your alternator it's on the left of the bike. Get a service manual and a multimeter and start testing. Start with the obvious ok. That means make sure your battery is fine, 90% of the time it's the battery, just cause when motorcycle batteries go,,,the GO. Then test the alternator with a multi-meter, Did the tail section get damaged? because if it did that's where your voltage regulator is. test that with a multi-meter.
I'm willing to bet it's probably the battery, or the alternator, or maybe the flywheel that rotates around the alternator. Did you damage the left side case cover? if so then after you test the battery thats where to look next. thats where the alternator is as well as the flywheel, it's the heart of your electrical system.
Test those first then Pm me or send me a private message on Sunday or Monday,,,cool.

The dude above me is right too,,, check the starter motor as well. He's not BS ing you either, a starter is one of two things on a bike I ever recommed hitting with a mallet or a dead blow hammer. most of the time you'll get another few starts out of it. It's always better to test it with a meter though.
Kinda makes sense when I think about it though, because the way that starter sits in the 954 if you slammed it down on the left it might stick,,, kind of a long shot but it does make an **** load of sense. Frickin Gixxer guys always suprise me. Just kiddin.
oh ya, and I meant to say PM me OR send me a private message. Lemme know how it goes.

Re: 954 wont start
It starts when you hook the battery directly up to the starter and when you push start it. Sounds like maybe a relay somewhere. Is the there a tip over switch on those? I'm sure there is somewhere. Maybe fried a connection or a relay. Try swapping parts with Ginos bike to narrow it down.
Re: 954 wont start
duh starter relay. starter works with power, it push starts, but when you push the button the starter doesn't turn. that means starter relay died. it does this when the bike SLAMS on the FN ground hard.
it's the thing that the positive wire from your battery connects to. also, if you take off that plug from teh starter relay there is a 30 amp fuse under there, check that first, if it's blown, replace it, it'll work, if not blown then the relay is bad. steal one off another 954 and i think 929 is the same one.

sweet, so was it the fuse or the relay? sometimes a hard drop kinda jams up the starter so the next time you go to start it, it pops the fuse. glad you got it running
