Washing out
Everytime i try stoppies now the front locks up, what the hells going on
. Tire is the stock Bridgestone and the tread is still good but has about 6k on it. If the tread is good i don't think mileage would matter, and the pressure is fine.

#1 >> If you're locking up, you are applying the brake to quickly and/or not pre-loading the front-end. Use a more linear application. When you are ready to lift your stoppie, just trail the front brake enough to load the front tire. Once you have transferred weight to the tire then give a quick YET LINEAR (smooth) cinch on the lever and that will lift the rear right up.
#2 >> If you can't stoppie on stock air pressure you won't be able to at any. I will add though that dropping the front pressure will flatten the profile of the tire a little which will help quell headshake when your in the stoppie, but is by no means a requisite.
#3 >> As for the tire, unless it has vulcanized from hard track use, or sat unused for A LONG time and hardened it's fine.
Keep us updated when you get your first stoppie!

Re: Washing out
Almost forgot... make sure your tire is warmed up! Don't pull out of your house, and try to lift the rear at the stop sign... you know. Cold roads are a much lesser evil, but in severe instances a consideration. Obviously, stay clear of paint stripes on the road as well.
