Best sprocket combo??
Best sprocket combo??
I have a 01' yzf600r and i can wheelie it in 1st just by bouncing it. But i can get it up in second. Should i go down just 1 tooth in the front or more.Or do i just need more practice??
Re: Best sprocket combo??
i've got a '99 yzf600r jetted with a v&h slip-on geared down 1 tooth up front and i still have to clutch it in 2nd for a descent wheelie. next week i'm gonna try going up 2 teeth in the rear also. i'll let ya know what happens
Re: Best sprocket combo??
Several of the 600R's have had that problem, but I think they've since fixed that, and if you have the shiftkit put in, or have taken it to your Yamaha dealer(over said problem), it should be fixed.
2nd gear-40 mph, stand up, gas,bounce,clutch.

Re: Best sprocket combo??
I've got an F3 that i used to ride everyday and clutched it everyday for 2 years then it became a stunt bike for a year before I got my 900 I bet its got over 7,500 wheelies that were clutched up on the orginal clutch never felt it slip but then again its a honda.
Re: Best sprocket combo??
I put 5k on my stock springed clutch before it started to slip. Keep in mind a lot of that was learning 2nd gear wheelies so I was pretty hard on it till I figured out the "sweet spot" on the torque curve. I have replaced my stock springs with much stiffer EBC racing springs and I think this one will last at least 7000K. On the other hand I am trryin to add "Highchair" and "Slow Wheelies" to my bag o tricks so it may need replaced before the end of the season.
