Oil Light

Well, just got back from tring out my new stunt bike. It was nice, 12 nice sit down and stand up , Stock gearing :YEAH (Ordered +61-2 but not in yet But i noticed the oil light on at 12,I did over fill a little and still on. is this normmal? 03 gixxer 600

nice to here your riding again mike, mine does that and so does jay's, it worries me sometmies but i guess its normal, its the 12 o clock light

Having the oil light stay on is normal. My friend has a 02 GSXR 750 same problem. Our local shop told us that the motorcycle oil used today is old car oil that never got used in the past. I guess its too runny. He suggested using car oil. That's all he's ever used in all his bikes. 5W-30 i believe..
