I am tryin to change out the front brake pads on a 99 900rr.. I'm fairly mechanically inclined.. but on the stock pads. there is this little metal clip behind them that clings on to them . it goes on the back of the pad and thats what the master cylinder pushes against.. On the front I replaced them and never put them back on thinking that maybe it was part of the stock pads... then I did theback and I took them off the stock pads and put them on the new ones. both front and back braks work great... Should these stay on or off or does it matter.. thanks,Beau

 

put them back on , all brakes have them...they help to line the brakes up and quite the brake noise....but hell thats just my they will work with out the pices , but i do think it's better to have them on...good luck
