Slow wheelie problem
Slow wheelie problem
When I clutch 'em up from a slow roll sitting I can't see where I'm going and then the bike starts to walk back and forth on the road then I bring it down and I don't come down stright so it almost turns into a minor tank slapper.
Thanks in advance,

Re: Slow wheelie problem
sitting slow stuff, you can't see. just stare at the tank or triple tree.
when coming down, just make sure you straighten the bars....that's about all i can say to help.

Re: Slow wheelie problem
try learning to slow wheelie with your foot on the left rear peg, and right foot on back brake standing. It was alot easier for me. Be on the back brake when you clutch it up. Your wobbling probably because you are going to fast and trying to power the bike past the balance point. Go slow, and pop it up quick and high, and hold it with the back brake. Hope that helps.

So your saying that you actually have a little pressure on the back break when you bring it up or do you throw it up then tap the brake to slow the rise where you want it?
Re: Slow wheelie problem
I hear of people doing it this way 'riding the brake' to get it up to where they want it, but I just use throttle modulation to get it up to where I want it, and use the rear brake to save it from going too far back..

Another question though have you raised your idle or are you running it under 1k?
Thanks,

idle doesn't help fast wheelies...you have to be going like 10or less. work on getting to the balance point.
and the idle is on the left side under the tank.
Re: Slow wheelie problem
if im not mistaken, its on the right side right next to the rear brake reservoir (how do you spell that?), turn the little *** left/right to adjust.
** If im wrong its cause im on a carburated f4 not injected f4i
for the most part, dido for what binder said about fast wheelies

Re: Slow wheelie problem
I have an 02 F4I, it's not really 'under' the tank, just, go straight down the left side of the tank and it's stuck right there between the tank and the fairing, it's a white piece of plastic, with a metal clip on the white part, and a little black ****.
