GSXR 1000 advice
GSXR 1000 advice
I've logged in about 2000 miles on my gsxr1000 and I've been doing very short sit down 1st and 2nd gear power wheelies. In second gear I'll push down on the handle bars and goose the throttle to get it up.
Any ways I'm about to get serious about practicing my wheelies. Since each bike is different I'm looking for specific advice from gsxr 1000 riders (don't want some 600cc rider coming in here telling me to clutch it, first thing i'm going to do is loop my bike over trying to do a some first gear clutch wheelie
). I want to perfect my 55-75mph standup and sitdown wheelies.
I'm going to start practicing bouncing in 2nd gear standing up. The way gsxr handlebars are I am thinking that it is probably easy just push down and bounce the handlebars rather than jump the entire suspension.

Re: GSXR 1000 advice
I just learned my 2nd gear stand-ups. Not that good yet but can get the bike up.
I run in 2nd gear about 6k and keep an even throttle, then stand-up and bounce on the pegs. When the bike is on the rebound, gas that mo fro up.
Practice standing and bouncing on the pegs a few times to get how the bike reacts.

talking **** on 600 riders eh? lol
anyway you can clutch in first just learn how to use the power i rode an r1 for a little and had more luck clutching it then i did bouncing

yep, get it to 6 grand in second and bounce a little, itll come up, just get it higher and higher, youll get there. third, is smoother i think, again 6 gs, bounce harder. its not as jerky.
Re: GSXR 1000 advice
Are you sure you're ready for this?? I mean the GSX-R1000 is a force to be recond with! My GSX-R is pulling 165.8 horses at the rear wheel!!! I'll do power wheelies in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear!!! (only 1 tooth up in the back)
Check it, 2nd gear do about 60-70 mph, a lil bit over 5500 rpm's, stand up and twist your wrist and pull up, this ****ing bike will launch up in 2nd so be careful!!!!
I do most of my high-speed freeway wheelies in 3rd on the GSX-R, but when I am trying to keep the speed down or do a lil switch to a nack-nack or flamingo i use 2nd gear, i have more control in my opinion....
Rip some wheelies player!!! :YEAH

Re: GSXR 1000 advice
I clutch it up no matter what gear. 1st, 2nd, or 3rd. Stock gearing too.
LEARN TO CLUTCH IT UP NOW! Because if you don't, it's gonna be all that much harder when you want to slow them down later on.
Use the clutch homey!

I ride a Gixxer 1 and have to tell you that it took me no time to learn slow standups. i think its about knowing you bike. take some time to get to know it and you will be fine...... :YEAH in second gear the 1000 comes up very easy. all i do is standup in second gear, usually around 55 mph and give a small bounce and the bike comes right up. in 3rd gear you have to have the rpm's up a little higher, but it will do 3rd gear standups, EASY....

Cluthing? Bouncing? I think it is all what works for you.
I clutch all my site downs. 1st gear 2nd 3rd 4th what ever (01 gix1k) becaue this gives (me) the control and repatability every time that I do them.
We thits at 10mph or 80mph. when i bounce/powere up a site down it builds up to much speed and energy were if i clutch it up I kindof just toss the front up in the air and hold that same speed. This also make tank wheelis easy to do because its they same thing.
Stan ups I power/bounce up. 1st gear at 10 mph just roll the gas and lean back a bit at the same time. 2nd just a bit of a body spring and it rolls right up. Just rember if you want to ride it at 55 mph you cant start it at 65 mph. unless your good. so start it aroun 45 in 2nd. I cant start a 2nd at 25mph on this bike with ease so pratice. This bike become tutchy in higher RPM,s so maby 55mph in 3rd will give you more/smother control but that is up to you and what works for you. I think every one does it a bit differant.
