Circle Wheelies ??
Circle Wheelies ??
I have a '03 zx6r with -1 and +2 gearing and i was wondering what gear and roughly what revs are you guys doing when pulling circles i so bad want to learn them but don't know where to start, i can ride 1st & 2nd wheelies on the back pegs pretty slow but circles have me beat so far...
Any help would be apreciated

first off, make sure you have no hands/nth like butter...the best way to do circles is on the idle...on my 636 i'm at stock gearing and the rpms are prolly 4000 ( don't have a tach, but enough experience to guestimate)....
again though, you are trying to run before you crawl if you can't ride the bike off the idle only.

That make me feel better about the 929... I guess I don't need to be touching the throttle in a circle like others have told me.

Re: Circle Wheelies ??
glad you liked it, although i will say that i commonly blip the throttle while spinning them to keep the circle up...ride in on the idle and if you are getting only one and then it falls down, GENTLY blip the throttle before it gets too far and this will bring the front wheel back up and give you another half to full circle...once you get this, you will use it less and figure out how to compensate.
--one of the reasons i like the 6 hundo on stock gears-not so snappy up there!!
but the advice tony d/ mark mpz gave me last year was roll into the circle at the same speed you do nth, etc...and do it on the idle.
if it stalls, you are keeping it too far above bp, if it drops, too low...keep searching for the sweet spot and it will feel as if the bike just goes around by itself!
hope this helps.

Re: Circle Wheelies ??
Circles are a pain, I learned on my gixxer 750, 2, 10 gearing, I just got circles on that thing down, 10 plus almost everytime, and 5 or 6 sit downs. Blip the throttle a little to keep the front end up.
Now with stock gearing its harder because you have to be real smooth with the throttle and brake, my 929 stock geared, idle @ 2300, unlike 3600 on my gixxer. You have roll into the circle faster w/stock gearing so you'll have some momentum to the circle going since the motor will not pull as hard.
It takes practice, but once you get the mechanics of it you can circle up everything, stock geared 600s, v-twins, whatever as long as you idle up to 2500.
