wheelies on CBR900RR

hey guys and gals,

im slowly getting better at wheelies on my CBR900RR 1996 model
i can bounce it up in first all the time and some times ride it out, but now i want to go into 2nd, how do i do this?????
1) do i use the clutch and change gear
2) do i not use the clutch and ram it into 2nd

also if i where to change gearing on the bike what gearing should i use??
i ride my bike on the street so i dont want it toping out at 60 mph

i was thinking like 3-4 teeth up

will this help me pop phat wheelies??????

cheers

Start with 2nd then move to first, or you'll probably be on here asking for the best disinfectant for road rash.

Re: wheelies on CBR900RR

I just got my 900RR about 2 weeks ago and Ive been out practicing my wheelies as well. Ive noticed that she doesnt like to come up with just usin the throttle and a little bounce. I was gettin pissed off!!! I even had a few other guys ride it that are pretty good stunters and they were in shock that it wouldnt come up more than a couple feet with just the throttle. But, I started clutchin it up and I was amazed at how much more smooth it was. I felt like i had more control usin the clutch rather than bouncin it along with just usin the throttle.
