As for the wheelie department, man I love the bike, it wheelies like a dream. I can bounce it up in second or clutch it up. 3rd gear wheelies aren't that hard either, just preload and bounce a little and she powers rite up.

:YEAH
What can you tell me about '02 motors...same problem? I keep plenty oil in my bike, haven't seen the 12 o'clock light yet. Keep it comin' , this is good stuff

The 02 motors are still the first generation SV. Call your dealer and give them the service bulletin # I posted earlier in the thread. Order the oil block off plate, its like 20 bucks. Just for peice of mind to know you have good oil pressure in both cyclinders on one wheel or the other is worth the 20 bucks and hour or so spent taking the engine case off, reomving the stater and installing the modification plate.

As for me, I'll continue beating the living snot out of my SV650's. Great bike, takes crashes well, its lite, agile and I always blow all my friends away on there big inline 4's and harleys with wheelies and thru the twisties.

Re: Can you stunt on an SV?

I will definitly do that. My SV just crossed 32k, and I want to get at least another 20k before I think about getting another SV. Might need a new clutch, but don't know yet. Thanks for the info...I'll use it all

the ones that were recalled had bigger hole.they blocked part of hole with plate.those before recall had internal plate.this are motors I install recall plate on top of internal plate.
those after recall have case casted different so internal plate is gone.
both plates can be seen in service manual.
recall plate can be installed without splitting cases.you do have to take flywheel out.
you can see plate if you take left side cover(generator cover) off.it is under flywheel(not the one right to flywheel)and goes inside thru holes in cases.
if you race and dont have this plate I would recomend installing one, regardless of motor year.

Do you happen to have a pic regarding the part or where it is located. My dealer said my bike was not affected but I know it is them sob's cause I looked up the vin myself (6y2101171) how hard is it to install. Thanks. my first engine blew up with 9,000 on the clock

Re: Can you stunt on an SV?

LIsten, I know of the block off plate. My 99 motor didn't have the plate, It last 9000 mile, only 800 miles from me. Then the 01 motor with the plate I got with 350 miles on it, blew up after about 75 miles. Then the 99 was rebuilt with the plate and an extended oil pick-up, but appearently wasn't long enough, so that one lasted about 125 miles. Each motor Spun a rod bearing. Had the bike since march, gone through three motors, BUT Wouldn't trade the bike in for any 4 cylinder. I'm am in the prosess now of building a much lobger oil pick-up, Should have to run about 1 quart higher than normal. Extemely top secret design!!!!

As far as stunting it, BEST STUNT BIKE EVER, if you can keep it running. YOu don't need to sprocket it, but it helps.

Check out the website, ScooterTrashST.com And watch the ST on the News video, Plenty of SV Stunts

Re: Can you stunt on an SV?

Hey Dizzo, remind me when we meet, not to let you ride my bike. I'm with you on the best bike thing, I wouldn't trade mine for a 4cylynder either and I had/rode/raced many in past 17 years. I cannot 12 my ride, but with 3.5+ quarts of silkolene, I'm still on the original clutch, pistons, rings and shiitt after 32k. I like what you guys do on the SV. Tight I heard Gina is no longer ridin' , is that so?

Re: Can you stunt on an SV?

has anyone ran the oil way over 1 qt. or more and had any luck. I know too much oil can be bad also. How much did it cost you to redo you sv engine the dealer took care of mine the first time. How much can I expect to pay. I really want to keep my sv as it is a great bike but I can't afford to fix it every thousand miles. It really is the best stunt bike in my opinion, though blowing it up has wavered my confidence. Thanks everyone

Re: Can you stunt on an SV?

Well, Performance power sports fixed it, But i think i still owe them. They are our sponsors, so labor is free. Twinisin, I need a bike for the weekend, we got two shows, Hook a brother up. I will Post up when i get all parts and motor back together and see if it works. I will probably have to run more than a quart high. And I don't think anything that bad would happen just maybe blow out the breather, but we will see!?!?!

Where is the idle at? and around what rpm do you turn it up to? do you bring it up to the Balance point real quick than chop the throttle?

Thanks for the info.

Also is anyone hitting tank wheelies on the sport standard? My legs are hitting the bars I have to be way back and racking my nugget sack.

1 more.....Anyone running a 170 rear tire? Anyone try out the michlen pilot sports yet? what ya think?

my buddy had a 01 sv650, that sh*t started rattlin' after 2 weeks of wheelies, they are real bad about oil starvation, and you have to be super carefull when you over fill any suzuki...

Good tire, I used upto 180 on rear, corners like shiat, but good burnout skin. Get Pilot Road instead Pilot Sport. It will last twice as long and it sticks better. As for tank wheelies, figure it out, everyone is different

Put some skate board or that bathtub grip tape on your tank for tank wheelies, it helped me
