Can you stunt on an SV?
Re: Can you stunt on an SV?
got a 650, wouldn't trade it for a 1000. Got 18k miles, just learning 12's, it's hard, cause I don't remember if ever I brought it up in 1-st gear. Always in 2nd or 3rd. I'm workin on highchairs as well. SV is awesome for stuntin, just keep the oil fresh and plenty :YEAH
I read in Fast Bikes (English magazine) that the SV1000 is probably one of the easiest bikes to stunt because of the balancepoint of the bike. They said something in the order of :"if you can not stunt a SV1000, Fazer 1000 or the CB900, you should stop trying alltogether. Just get it into second hoist it up and keep going for miles!!!"
Did you get the version with the small screen or the naked one?
They said the naked version was less stable at higher speed down the twisties.
Never mind that and ride it like you just don't care!!!

I've never ridden an SV, but I know a guy that rides an SV-650. He's not a hardcore rider/stunter or nothing, and he learned to wheelie the thing in a week. That was from no wheelie experience, to riding them 1,000+ feet. He was rolling about 5 mph, gave it a bounce, clutched it, came right up, shifted into second, and off he went. :YEAH

I'm having trouble stunting my SV1000S. I can pop it up by being in 1st gear, at about 3000rpms I punch it and it comes up, but then I go back down. I'm not sure what to do next. I've tried clutching it up in 2nd, but all it does it throw the bike forward. Am I letting the clutch go too fast. Hell I've take it to 9000rpms and let the clutch go and it still just jumps the bike forward. I need help homies.

one thing DOn't ever take FHLs advise!!! he will ask and give advise on the same topic!
second we can sit here all day and give you advise, what it comes down to is saddle time, saddle time and more saddle time!!! just keep practicing!

Re: Can you stunt on an SV?
No I'm not rolling on the throttle. I already have the damn bike at 9000rpms then I drop the clutch. I guess I better get off this damn PC and go practice. I have practicing my endos today though. I just can't get the nerve to get a rolling one going.
Re: Can you stunt on an SV?
I pulled up beside guy at an intersection who was on a sv1000, when I saw he had a 12 bar on it I mentioned it and he told me he loves the bike. When the light cycled again we didn't move and left some room between us and the cars infront of us and he brought it right up onto the bar and parked it. that was the first time I ever saw someone park a 12 and was really impressed, he brought it right up and it seemed to go be real smooth. I would think that with the right gearing an sv could make a good bike though. Aren't they 2 cylinder? If so they would have a bit more low end torque than a inline 4.
