are you talking clutching or bouncing and how how many teeth are you running.ive got an 2001 R1 with 1 down in the front and i can roll in the gas and a little yank give a nice high 3rd gear.what speed have you tried them in.

What's wrong is technique.

Stand up.. roll on the gas about 1/2 throttle. Chop the throttle and bounce on the footpegs at the same time.

The rebound of your front suspension and the reopening of the throttle will bring it up.

And don't even try to "pull" on the clipons. It does nothing except make your front wheel come up a little bit crookedly.

To look at it from a physics point of view:

When connected to the bike, you're a closed system. That means that all you're really doing is pulling yourself forward while trying to pull the bike up. Imagine it like this: stand ontop of a skateboard. Grab it with your hands and pull up as hard as you can. Look, it doesn't go up! Why? Because you're connected to it. And the skateboard only weighs 5lbs, not 400!.

It's all technique. Some people can bounce 4th gear wheelies up on R6's with just jetting and 1 tooth down on the front sprocket. I can only do 2nd gears on my R6, but haven't really tried 3rd gear.
