Balancing my 6?

I can get my bike up in 1st, 2nd and 3rd but can never ride em out. Do I need to be constantly increasing the throttle little by little? or increasing then decreasing like a wobble thing? Also what's the best body position anyone can describe to be at during a stand up wheelie? Thanks for your help.

Get it up as fast as U can, so you are not doing a power wheelie if U know what I mean!!The faster U get it to the balance point the better, so your not accelerating to keep it up! Try running lower tire pressure,I use around 20 psi!!

Re: Balancing my 6?

try it with your left foot on the rear peg. it makes it a little easier to catch the balancing point and its easier on the arms.

Re: Balancing my 6?

With a foot on the rear peg, it's easier to wobble and fall over tho, so get balance down first. (I mean side to side balance...)

I'm 6 feet tall, so I pop my Sixxer up to about the height where I can read Suzuki above my headlight during a standup, and hold the throttle in a steady position. You know when you hit the BP because you should actually be able to let off the gas and coast for a bit before it comes back down. If you're in first, try to pop it up around 10 mph. Oh, and yeah, like the guy above my post said, around 20 psi in the rear tire is a good idea, decreases the chances of wobbling and makes it easier to balance it out.

my opinion : only thing you need, is more pratice.. it all comes with pratice, knowledge of your bike and being comfortable with the bike up on one wheel..... PERIOD

better to have a bike and barley be able to stunt, then to have a pile of metal that you can NEVER stunt...

Well when your doin' a standup your gunna want to lean back. Its natural to want lean forward like ski jumper but if you lean back a little bit you'll find it easier in the long run. And when you learning, try to cover the rear break.....ya know just in case

u arent going high enough. u basically have to go to the point where it feels like u r too high. then go a little bit further. and u should be right at the perfect balance point. i used to have the same prob. and it worked for me.

Re: Balancing my 6?

my opinion: so that you don't loop your bike is to change gears as soon as you near the bp. that way there is a little less throttle response and u're less likely to go back too far. practice practice practice

That would be more likely to loop... If I'm in first and getting up to BP will mean by the time im ready to shift I will be at maybe 11k and if I do shift then I will be at the power band in 2nd which will throw me back, I think that's a bad idea. Im going to keep trying to get higher in 2nd gear. Thanks to everyone who has been throwing out ideas.
