929 Suspension adjusment

I know the real reason i cant get wheelies down is becaues of my lack of hair on my *****. But i know a guy with an f3 that used to be able to bounce standups in third gear. Then he tighthened up his rear sag i believe. Whatever the hell makes the bike either not go down so far when you sit on it. Or lets it go way down. His problem was when he would bounce he would bottom his plastics out. But there was so much suspension travel that he could get the wheelies to balance in third. So i was wondering how i can loosen mine on the 929 to get it up higher. And spare me the talk about the 929 can get it up there without adjustments. I know it has the power but since i cant wheelie good yet im willing to try anything. Thank you.

Re: 929 Suspension adjusment

Ok, wel first of you will be wanting to release you dampning pressure. ON the rear just loosten the spring (with the accentric adjust), then keep the rebound adjuster firm, but make the dampning very soft so the bike sits flat in the rear.

Now on the front you are going to release (soften) BOTH dampning and rebound so the front travels on basically the spring with little hydrolic "slow down" Adjust the spring to stiffen slightly

This is going to make the bike handle like **** and may cause some fork seals th blow (when falling on the front hard) so do it in incriments to find a nice giveway point.

I know you don't want to hear it but, don't worry about it, just grow some sprouts and twist on it. My opinion says adjustments on suspension aren't going to teach you how to wheelie. keep practicing then practice more

Honestly, I dont get how you couldnt do a wheelie on a 929. I mean dont take offense to that...but sheesh! I can see how its difficult to learn on a 600...but even then, it didnt take me to long to learn on a 600, and I figured a 929 would just come right up. I know any other big bike Ive ridden has no problem popping it up.

Yea sorry about the brotherin, Stuntlife is ****ing macho-ville so be prepared for everyone to pile on the insults from a simple beginer question. What I posted will make the bike easier to roll onto the back end, But in all fairness the guys are right; practice makes perfect.

good luck

Re: 929 Suspension adjusment

I have mine set up really stiff, I actually got the setting from sportrider. But like everyone said just practice. If your actually having problems getting it up then you could always drop a tooth of the coutershaft sprocket, that'll have you pullin' them up in no time. Or try with an almost empty tank of gas, that makes mine come up really fast. I have the same lack of hair problem you do, but I got mine from loopin' it at 90 now when I'm getting close to the balance point it spooks me. Oh well practice practice practice.
