I need some help w/ my 900. It rides fine around town and while doing wheelies in 2nd gear at 50-55, but when I try 12's in 1st I get it up real fast and it wants to bog down or die. I don't think the carbs need rejetted but I could be wrong. My idle is not turned up and I have stock gears. Any help would be great.

carb'ed bikes don't run too well when the float bowls are 90 degrees from where they were made to run......try lowering the float hieght a bit, it might help, i had the same problem with my carbs when i'd do stoppies on my old *** gsxr

 

On my 98 had the same prob -1 in the front and it would bog real bad when I tried to pull it up slow rollin like 5mph and under I would have to get goin like 10 or 15 mph and it would bog Did't have enough Rpm pull it that slow. I put some gears on mine went 12up in the rear no probs pull it with one foot on the ground I'm -1 +12 now I really like it thinking about -2 +12 roll some slow *** ****. On the 98&99 they dont have fuel pumps don't know what year U have so i thought I'd throw that in. Doin 12s on the 98 99 U have to keep them full of gas if U get below half it will start to bog when U get to 12. Pm if you need some more info there are 2 other things it might be. Hope this helps

Thanks I will try filling my tank up all the way and if that does not work I'll go get some gears! Maybe -1 +5 do you think that would do it? By the way thanks Kris and Skr00zloose.

 

-1 and 5 sounds good to me. you might want to go through the carbs on that bike and you also might take it to a shop and let them sink the carbs for you.

 

Take The Filter Inside The Petcok Off And Put A Filter On The Fuel Line .you Need To Get Your Carbs Sinkt.put New Spark Plugs.i Got 1dw And 5up My 900 Runs Smooth On Slow 12s

 

Its still going to bog parked on a 12 bar. Bar tricks are kinda gay except for a few. Get a FI bike and forget it.
