i'm riding a cb-1 with almost identical motor(yours has a little more power tho) i usually cruise at about 2500rpm, get on the gas hard then slip the clutch a little, until around 7-8000rpm, thenlet fly. if your on the gas hard, it only takes a second to reach that. i tried doing it slower as i went(the slipping part) until it worked the way i wanted. like everyone here says, start slow and cover the rear brake.

p.s. make sure the engine & tires are good and warm. these bikes tend to burnout if the tires are cold and throttle response sux if not warmed up

c'mon, man! surely there's a bike that can roll wheelies that's not a 1000! btw, covertwar helped me figure the standing of my -1 up. oh yeah, that's the naked version of the cbr400rr. i'll give a little credit where it's due. to the rest of you, all of you helped me get the safety issue down as well as could be. PROPS TO ALL!!!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

rev it up real good, then release that clutch and it will come up make sure you are ready on the back brake to keep it from going over, the exact rpm will vary, start in second gear to be safe, but if you cant get up then go to first

Re: wheeliing on a 400cc...

wow! these posts are old haha.. probably nobody's checking them anyway. cbr nc23 400 here and yes not only is it capable of a wheelie but man you can actually stunt the thing.. circles and all. a bit heavy but i run -1 +10 (49 rear) and it pops in 3rd and 4th if you put your back into it only reason i got it was price and license restrictions but now i'm pretty sure with all the mods(custom brackets, cage and all) i could have got an f4 by now but realy dont want to
